CFAES Embedded Counselor

CFAES has a mental health counselors embedded within our college to work primarily with our students. David L. Wirt, M.Ed., LPCC-S works on the OSU Columbus campus.  David is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with OSU’s Student Life Counseling and Consultation Services (CCS). His office is located in 100 Agricultural Administration Building. David has worked in the mental health field since the mid 1990's and has experience with a very diverse background of work settings and clientele. A proud Ohio State Alumnus himself, David has worked at The Ohio State University since 2011 and joined CFAES in 2019.

David provides consultation and outreach as well to faculty, staff, and student organizations. Please contact David directly via email with these requests.

 

CFAES Wooster Embedded Counselor:

Students at the CFAES Wooster campus have the option to contact the CCS Embedded Counselor, Dr. Schaad. Dr. Schaad is available to work with all students, including graduate students.

CFAES students are eligible to meet with any of the counseling staff at CCS. If you are a student who would like to meet with David or Schaad, please visit https://go.osu.edu/phonescreening . This will enable David, Schaad, or one of thier CCS colleagues, to contact you to discuss needs, and to schedule for sessions when needed. You can also call 614-292-5766 to start this process.  Students should mention they are a CFAES student when they call if they are interested in options to be routed to David or Schaad.

 

Let's Talk

Daily consultations via Carmen Zoom are available through our "Let's Talk" program Monday through Friday: https://ccs.osu.edu/about-us-and-our-services/lets-talk/. David has times available most weeks via Let's Talk as a "drop in" service to students. CCS counselors are available daily for Let's Talk. Times are posted on the CCS website link above and you do need to sign up for an available time slot. You may talk to any CCS Counselor via Let's Talk on any day you like.

Offers confidential support for survivors of sexual violence from the Sexual Assault Response Network of Central Ohio. SARNCO is located at 33 W. 11th Ave., Room 202.
