The Back 2 School Bash, hosted by the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES), provides a unique opportunity for students to get excited about the school year beginning. For first year, transfer, and transition students, the event allows students to get acquainted with the faculty, clubs, and their classmates within CFAES. For returning students and upper classmen, the evening serves as a way for them to be welcomed back to school.

Helena Chemical Company recognizes Aaron Siebeneck as the 2015 Outstanding North Central Division Intern Award winner. Siebeneck is from Ottawa, Ohio and is a senior at The Ohio State University majoring in Agriculture Systems Management. He was selected from a competitive group of 65 interns throughout the Midwest for his outstanding performance throughout his summer internship with Helena Chemical Company. Siebeneck worked as a Summer Sales and Marketing Intern for the Continental, Ohio branch.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – One of The Ohio State University Livestock Judging Team’s most competitive seasons was capped off with a seventh place finish at the 109th National Collegiate Livestock Judging Contest held on Nov. 17, in Louisville, Ky., in conjunction with the North American International Livestock Exposition (NAILE).

Ohio State is ranked in the top 10 nationally among doctoral institutions for the number of students studying abroad and is in the top 15 for its international student enrollment, according to a national report released Monday (11/17). Ohio State ranks 7th among the nation’s colleges and universities with 2,255 students studying abroad in 2012-13, a 31 percent increase over the previous year. COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State University Livestock Judging Team finished sixth at the American Royal Intercollegiate Livestock Judging contest held on Nov. 1, in Kansas City, Mo. This is the highest finish at the American Royal since 2004, when the team placed third overall.
Ohio State was among 25 university teams from across the country to judge five cattle classes, four swine classes, two sheep classes and one goat class before presenting eight sets of oral reasons. OSU placed third in swine judging, seventh in cattle, ninth in the sheep and goat division, and tenth in oral reasons.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State University Livestock Judging Team won the Keystone International Livestock Exposition (KILE) Collegiate Livestock Judging contest on Oct. 4, at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Exposition Center in Harrisburg, Penn. The win is the third in a row for OSU at KILE, which is a first for the school.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The OSU Livestock Judging Team finished fourth at the National Barrow Show judging contest held on September 8th. This performance ties the school’s previous high team mark set in 1994, which is the only other year OSU has finished in the top five at the contest. In snapping the 20-year top five drought, the team came within 12 points of winning the event, and extended OSU’s top ten streak at the National Barrow Show to three; a first for the school boasting the second longest continuously competing livestock judging program in the nation.
