Community Leadership

Community Leadership is designed to equip students with knowledge and skills to be effective leaders and educators. Students have the opportunity to specialize in the following areas:

Community and Extension Education

This specialization prepares students to become extension educators and leaders to promote positive change through learning and partnerships that strengthen individuals, families, and communities. Students completing this program earn the degree Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and will complete courses in program planning, human development, leadership, communication, and non-formal education. 

Leadership

This specialization prepares students with the capacity to embrace change and lead others in adapting, managing, and directing change in an individual, organization, or community context. Students completing this program earn the degree Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and will complete coursework in personal development, leadership, teamwork, ethics, diversity, and communication.

Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow (ACT)

ACT is a national organization designed for students who want to pursue a profession in Agricultural Communication. Ohio State's chapter is actively involved in professional development, service, and social programs. The organization is open to any Ohio State student.

Agricultural Education Society

The Agricultural Education Society is the oldest student organization on The Ohio State University campus. More than 125 years old, the organization is steeped in the tradition of providing enriching experiences to students interested in agricultural education. The organization is open to any Ohio State student.
