    2018 Trinidad: FAES First-Year Student Experience Program. This education abroad program during winter break is only open to first semester freshmen in the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences and provides an opportunity for students to learn about global agricultural and environmental issues in an international context. The dates of this program is December 14-22, 2018.     This event is held in 102 Plumb Hall and is open to students of all majors and ranks! Applications are due by October 1, 2018. In this program, students will examine small ruminant heritage breeds of Scotland, visit the University of Glasgow School of Veterinary Medicine, meet and enjoy lectures by University of Glasgow faculty, and explore Scotland's history, myths, and landscape.     This College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences Program is an intensive course that will introduce students to Chile and to the many facets of the agricultural phenomena that has transformed Chile's place in the global market. Emphasis will be placed upon how the interplay of geography, history and social structures led to the developed economy in place today. Implications for the future of the relationship of nations throughout the Americas will be considered.

    The goal of this program is to learn and exhibit an understanding of political, economic, cultural, physical and social differences among the nations of the world regarding human-animal interactions. It is offered every other year on a 3-year rotation for the program locations. The AU17 program travelled to Spain, and the AU18 program will travel to Ireland, and next time this program will be offered is 2020.
