    The goal of this program is to help students develop cultural awareness and problem solving skills as well as provide students the opportunity to conduct international sustainable service leaning projects. We achieve these goals through a variety of course work, including regular guided discussions of the assigned study topics, student’s experience and thoughts about the field trips, and guided tours to the cultural and historical sites, as well as conducting service learning projects and staying with local families (homestay).

    This program is designed to give students an appreciation for the heritage, production, health and well-being of Scotland’s ruminant species. This education abroad experience combined with the lecture based co-requisite course (Animal Sciences 2400.04) provides students an opportunity to explore how world history, government, geography, and infrastructure can impact the management of animals within the Scottish society.

    The University of Glasgow School of Veterinary Medicine (UoG) has established FEEPASS (Facilitated Early Entry Program for Animal Science Students) between the Department of Animal Sciences and the UoG School of Veterinary Medicine.  After three years of study at The Ohio State University (OSU), Animal Sciences students accepted into this program will enroll in year 1 of the 5-year BVMS program at the UoG, while continuing as candidates for the B.S. degree at OSU. At the end of the Education Abroad period of study (i.e. year 1 at the UoG), students are eligible for completion of the B.S.
