Department & Faculty Advisors

Your Faculty Advisor specializes in your field of study and helps with the following:

  • Major-specific Topics

  • Course selection

  • Providing Advisor Permission/Approval for Certain Procedures

  • Potential Careers & Research Opportunities

  • Questions regarding your Area of Study

Some departments also have a Department Advisor who can asssist students with course planning and other academic matters. You can find your assigned Faculty and/or Department Advisors listed in BuckeyeLink. Contact these individuals to learn of their process for scheduling appointments. 

Department Coordinating Advisors

A Department Coordinating Advisor serves as a back-up to your Faculty Advisor, and often provides approval on specific types of petitions.
