If you are interested in changing your major, a major change should ideally be completed by no later than the first week of a new semester. For example, if you are wanting to change your major into a program within CFAES, you will need to do so by the first Friday deadline of that semester to be officially in your new major. If you change your major after the 15th Day/Census Reporting period of a new semester, the change can be made but will not be official until the following semester.
To change your major you must be in good academic standing (No Academic Probation, Special Action Probation, Academic Warning) with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
There is no application necessary when going through the major change process. An appointment with one of the College's Academic Counselors is requiured when looking to change your major into CFAES. Schedule an appointment with one of our CFAES Academic Counselors to begin your major change process.
Please call the College Academic Programs Office at (614) 292-1734 during normal business office hours (Mon – Fri, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm) to request a Zoom or phone or in-person appointment with CFAES Academic Counselors, Paul A. Heimberger.firstname.lastname@example.org or Ben Carignan.email@example.com. Alternatively, you can also call the Front Desk at (614) 292-6891 for assistance.
If you are an OSU student, you may also be able to check their availability and sign up for an appointment in OnCourse (http://go.osu.edu/OnCourse) or directly as follows:
Paul – https://go.osu.edu/meetpaul
If you are a prospective OSU student but haven’t been admitted yet and choose a Zoom meeting, you will also receive a separate email invitation to the meeting directly from Paul or Ben that you need to accept. He will send you an invitation after the receptionist has posted your original appointment request to his schedule.
